Hi! I'm Terrie-May.

I don’t really remember when I started singing; I’m pretty sure I was born warbling away!

Nightingale Music actually started in Ireland, where I lived at the time, under the name Songbird. Starting out developing and performing shows in nursing and care homes (which I still do and which I LOVE), I branched into singing for weddings and events in 2015 and never looked back! I moved back to Devon in January 2018 and took Nightingale Music full time in January 2019. Living close to the beach and the Moors again makes me so happy!

I’m originally from South Devon and from the first time I stood on the stage aged 10 I knew that performing was the only life for me.

I started singing professionally as a cabaret artiste the weekend I turned 16, and when I moved to London at 21 to go to university and drama school, my focus turned to acting and musical theatre, performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and in wonderful venues such as the Rose Theatre, Kingston and the Lyric Theatre in the West End. During this time I also developed a passion for classical work under the tutelage of Sydney Opera House performer Jeffrey Black.

The next few years were spent at sea working as the Lead Production Vocalist on board P&O Cruises and Holland America Line, which was amazing! I love travelling, so doing that whilst singing was a fantastic experience.

The thing I love about my job is that no two weddings, no two shows, no two parties are the same. I really enjoy creating bespoke set lists for each event, so whether you’re after a Motown show that’s full of energy or some smooth jazz to accompany your sophisticated drinks reception, let’s have a chat about how I can add a touch of vintage sparkle to your wedding or event!
